Shirley,
Welcome back to Fanstory. Congrats on the first place win in the Cake Nonsense Contest. This creative write captures the joy of baking and the eager anticipation of enjoying the first bite of a newly baked cake. The last two verses remind me of the story of the Gingerbread Man. The humor shines through and brought a bright smile to my face while reading this sweet entry.
All the best,
Eugene

Excellent! Loved the story and the flow to your verse. And how could anyone blame this little beauty for making a dash for it with those little "cakey feet?" Well done and good luck! Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. I have saved one sweet cake from a culinary fate so I'll sleep well tonight! :)

Hi
This sounds like a cake from Wonderland. One Alice might have to chase.
But it is good that the cake can save itself from being eaten.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of the week.

This is a fun read for the Cakation contest from the cake's perspective, so to speak, with its 'golden brown' coat and 'springy head'- and a super pic to illustrate- a candidate for the winner's enclosure

This was so fun! I love your use of imagery and language. Great word choices such as "podgy fingers" and "cakey feet". For me it added charm to your short story. Your poem captures a sense of fun and mischief! I love how you you turn a simple baking scenario into an entertaining tale of escape!
