An excellent story, and a very well written one. There was excitement and drama, sibling relationships, an element of daring, and a satisfying ending. Best wishes for your entry.

It's a good story. But it lacked, to me, the feeling of being how they say, in the day. It felt more modern, as if it were happening today. Perhaps, it was due to the language or lack there of of pirate conversation. Good luck in the contest.

The story is engaging and well-written, with vivid descriptions and compelling dialogue that kept me hooked from start to finish. The dynamic between the characters is well-developed, and the tension and stakes are clear throughout. The pacing is excellent, with a satisfying resolution that left me feeling satisfied. Overall, a well-crafted and entertaining read.

A great pirate story that is clean enough for children to read, which I noted in your author notes is your intended audience. Poor Tobias finding out the hard way what it means to be seasick.
The only suggestion I have is with this tiny word:
"Ssh.
I think in the United States we are more likely to spell it like this.
"Shh.
