My Blessings

by jim vecchio

God loved me, though I am small
And made me feel ten feet tall
And when I wanted to pray
His Spirit showed me the way

He saw my soul full of strife
And took control of my life
And gave a loving wife
Healing my heart from its strife

Before our marriage was old
We had a child we could hold
As much me as she was her
A child that we both held dear

My wife had to leave, I know
And where she is, I’ll soon go
To a place we’ll not depart
Our life here is but a start

Blessings came from day to day

God guided us all the way

We’re just vessels made of clay

With blessings we could not weigh
