The Fall Guy

by Bill Schott

Characters

Ann O. = movie watcher

Jan O.  = film critic

The scene opens with two people sitting in movie seats facing downstage watching previews for coming attractions.

Ann O.:  How come we don't have popcorn?

Jan O. :  You know, this version of The Fall Guy updates the character Colt Seavers, who is a stuntman.

Ann O. :  We also have nothing to drink.

Jan O. :  This new iteration of the story is without the bounty hunter angle, which accompanied the stuntman's occupation on the television series.

Ann O. :  This theater doesn't have reclining seats.

Jan O. :  Jody, from the series, is now his girlfriend and director.

Ann O. :  Why didn't we stop at the concession area when we came in?

Jan O. :  Do you remember the television series?

Ann O.:  Okay! Okay! Let's talk about the movie.

Jan O. : No, I said television series.

Ann O.:  The television series was on over thirty years ago; I would have been in kindergarten.

Jan O. :  They had reruns.

Ann O.:  Maybe twenty-five years ago, but now -- nothing.

Jan O. : Heather Thomas was in the Fall Guy television show.

Ann O.:  Now she plays AARP Bingo.

Jan O. :  Lee Majors was The Six Million Dollar Man.

Ann O.:  Now the guy who parks our car is a six million dollar man.

Jan O. : This new movie is based on that show.

Ann O.:  The only thing similar is a stunt man named Colt. They just ripped off the title to get people curious.

Jan O. : I'm going to get some popcorn. Want some?

Ann O.:  I wonder if they have Six Million Dollar Man cups.

Jan O. :  Not quite, but they are not cheap either.

To be continued...
