A lost love

The Dark Veil

by Jodi Ann Anderson

Her blush pink gown hid her nervous feet.

His messy curls framed his distant eyes.
vows were said.
rings were given, but lips kissed coldly.
Sun became moon, and two turned to one as the groom she loved disappeared into the darkness.
bright moon reflected painful, grieving eyes while  sea mimicked her sorrow, showering a heavy mist over the bride like a dark veil.
gloomy waters swept away a discarded bouquet, as she screamed questions with no answers.
all alone,  she staggered closer, and stared at the infinite water,
then moved inside it and felt its power.

her blush pink gown hid her nervous feet.
